Upgrade of pitch lighting systems to High-Power LED with DMX control, fully compliant with UEFA and FIFA standards.
Ami & Igal undertook the Sammy Ofer Stadium lighting upgrade as a complete end-to-end
project, from advanced engineering design through to final execution. The objective was to
deliver a state-of-the-art pitch lighting system that meets the stringent requirements of
international football federations while providing flexibility, efficiency, and long-term
reliability.
Engineering Excellence from Concept to Execution
Precision Optical Design
The project began with detailed and complex lighting calculations, tailored to the
specific needs of the stadium and its operators. Advanced High-Power LED
luminaires were selected and equipped with precise optical lenses to ensure
uniform light distribution across the pitch, eliminate glare, and fully comply with
UEFA and FIFA illumination standards.
Advanced DMX Control System
A sophisticated DMX lighting control system was installed, enabling individual
control of each luminaire. The system allows instant selection between multiple
lighting scenarios, including:
o League and Final Matches: Full intensity with maximum uniformity
o Live Broadcasts: Optimized lighting calibrated for HDTV camera
requirements
o Training Sessions: Energy-efficient lighting modes
Infrastructure and Structural Engineering Support
The project included comprehensive engineering support for existing structures,
ensuring they could safely accommodate the new lighting loads. This involved
structural assessments, upgraded cabling systems, and the installation of new
electrical panels, guaranteeing safety, reliability, and long-term performance.
The Result
A stadium approved for Europe’s biggest stage.
Sammy Ofer Stadium received official clearance to host UEFA Champions League
matches-clear evidence of engineering precision that begins at the design phase and
culminates under the floodlights. The project demonstrates our ability to integrate advanced
lighting engineering, international standards, and intelligent control systems into a world-
class sports lighting solution.
